We drove back on Saturday night, and I baked most of the evening to prepare for a baby shower on Sunday night–there was very little down time, but my dear husband let me take a nap on Sunday afternoon, while he finished cleaning and decorated for the shower!  You just can’t complain about that type of KINDNESS!

I cropped the pic of the shower because I made the dad-to-be wear a pregnancy belly while the presents were being opened.  I didn’t think he’d appreciate the full profile picture on the WWW. ๐Ÿ™‚ One of the ladies that came brought a yummy coffee punch.  Even if you aren’t a coffee drinker, it’s light and nice.  I’ll try to post the recipe.  It was fun and different from the normal shower punch.  Since I was serving men, too, I tried to do foods/drinks, etc. that were more hearty than dainty.  The punch sure hit the spot!

Our last guests left at 10:30 p.m., and we drove up to Indianapolis to spend yesterday with my grandparents–It was such a wonderful time.  I am SO thankful for time I’m able to spend with them (they live in AZ and OK) since they are getting older and their health isn’t what it used to be.

GREAT, but busy weekend.

Just wanted to post about my weekend…I’ll leave you with this thought from my calendar today…

If it’s a penny for your thoughts and you put in your two cents’ worth, someone, somewhere is making a penny. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Tuesday!

Sorry about the multiple posts. Yes, I know I have issues.

Signs that your neighbor is nosey…

Recently, I had this conversation with my neighbor.  I think it’s indicative that she’s like the nosey neighbor, Gladys Kravitz from Bewitched, if you remember that show…

Ellie:  I saw you painted your kitchen red.

Maren: YEAH!  Come in and see it!

Ellie: No need (smirk on face)! I already peeked in the windows!

HAHAHAH!  Our neighbors are the best neighbors anyone could ask for, and I truly am thankful they are our neighbors.  The husband “patrols” the street, walking up and down throughout the day.  They have lived in their house for over 50 years and keep a watchful eye on the goings-on of the neighborhood.  I know if anything suspicious would happen, they’d be on top of it, and I feel safe to have neighbors that care.  Still, a conversation like the one above has to make one chortle!

ALMOST WEDNESDAY!
