Saturday, Michael and I went to a local police auction. I had my eye on a camera bag because the one I carry is huge and clunky. While it works for most situations, I feel goofy carrying a large backpack to nice functions, like weddings. So, I had my eye on a nice, simple bag.
Before that particular bag went up for auction, a lot of 6 identical bags went up for auction. (They were a little bigger than the perfect one, but still nice.) I told Michael to bid on the bags, and so for $10, we won all 6 bags. Immediately, a lady approached me wanting to buy one of the bags from me. I sold her one bag for $5. So, now for $5, I had purchased 5 camera bags.
Upon looking through the bags, I realized that there were many adapters and cords that went to several video cameras that were also going up for auction in just a short while. I waited for the cameras to be auctioned off (for $160), then I sent my negotiator, Michael, up to the winning bidder with one of the camera bags filled with all of the consolidated electrical cords.
Without batting an eye, the man pulled out a $20 bill and paid Michael for the bag of electrical cords for his cameras.
So, for NEGATIVE $15, I bought 4 camera bags! And that, my friend is a winning day on the auction block.
