Crazy Crayon Sticks

June 7, 2011 by Maren Leave a Comment

I’ll spare you the details. Martha and one thousand other bloggers have already done a tutorial on making muffin crayons. Here’s her tutorial.

I didn’t have any fun muffin pans, so I improvised with skewers, aluminum foil and a 9×13 pan to make Crazy Crayon Sticks! Perfect for little hands.

They even became ‘trains’ to the little one’s imagination.

Three tips:

  • Reusing the foil when making many crayons, creates crinkly crayons.  Unless you like the look, I don’t suggest it.
  • Let cool completely before removing the crayons or they break.
  • When unwrapping the old crayons, I soaked the crayons in water to help the wrappers come off. They were ancient crayons and I found it to be helpful, especially for the non-Crayola crayons.

Have fun!

After pouring himself a few Cheerios, Pierson looked sincerely at Michael and said, “Daddy want one?”

*Please pardon the toothbrush, Thatcher’s bottle, and hair curler. Don’t judge.
