Is it nap time yet?
I woke up at 6:46 and was at work at 7:02. About a 7 minute commute.
Between my house and the car, I lost my make up.
Make up or no make-up, today I look terrible.
I carefully searched inside my car and on the ground by my car for my make up, to no avail.
My home was thoroughly searched by Michael.
Michael retraced my steps in his car all the way to my work.
The inside of the car was throroughly searched by Michael.
Then he found it: OUTSIDE, ON THE WINDSHIELD, I guess as I had driven to work with it.
Moral of this story: You can’t see anything in the dark.
Second Moral of this story: I look terrible.
Oi. I feel like a nap.
So, about a month and a half ago, I bought a new pair of jeans–with a better security system than any of my other pairs. Instead of the typical 2-step security method, button and zip, this pair takes a 3-step security approach: Two buttons, and a zip. Problem is that I can’t get the extra “step” ingrained in my head, and as a result I end up skipping the most important step and walking around all tarnation like a bozo with my pants unzipped. Hey, at least I’m smiling as I look like a buffoon.
Anyone wanna give a shout out to automatic postal machines? I went to the post office on Monday to mail a package and the line was 450 people line, out the door. Maybe the number is slightly exaggerated–but it was backed out the door. Even the automated machine had a line of 4 people. I came back that night at 10, and was in and out of the Post Office in under 2 minutes! Love it. Also, is it me, or does it cost an enormous fee to mail the smallest packages? It’s ridiculous anymore! I just mailed something that weighs almost nothing, and had to spend most of my life savings (okay,$2–but when it weighs nothing, come on, people!) Also, I tried mailing a cd recently, but was told that because it was rigid and was more “package-like” I had to spend a considerable amount more than just a few stamps. Maybe the post ladies just like to see if they can get me to pay exorbitant prices because they think I will. You just can’t “shop around” for a better deal like in real life–unless you take a package there yourself, there’s no way around the service….sigh.
Happy Wednesday!~maren

The Forecast Looks Like Rain
On my way
to a bright sunny day
The forecast looks like rain.
I woke up late
Seven became eight.
The forecast looks like rain.
My brain won’t work
My mind’s berserk.
The forecast looks like rain.
Missed a call
not ‘on the ball’.
The forecast looks like rain.
Working late
Which I hate
The forecast looks like rain.
Got a shot for the flu
Amongst too much to do
The forecast looks like rain.
Wishing for just ONE sunray
Not today.
The forecast looks like rain.
Written by me, T-H-R-E-E Days before vacation…I DO see sun!
