I just received the best news I’ve received in months! At work, the latest member on our team just got her clearance! What this means is that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to 54 hour work weeks, icky night shifts, and exhaustion! I’ll go back to ONLY days and I’ll be able to see normalcy again (and maybe find more things to blog about)! Sigh!
I am a sucker…
” I am a sucker”
sung to the tune of “I am a Dancer” by The Wiggles.
I am a sucker
I am a sucker
I enter contests so
I will win them
I will win them
But winning is my foe.
I think it’s my drive to win that makes me a sucker for any competition. Over the past several years, I’ve tried out for all types of stuff– I’ve entered sweepstakes; a pickle naming contest; a recipe contest; I’ve tried out for reality and game shows: Survivor a few times, a Wheel of Fortune entry, Amazing Race 5ish times (I’m now boycotting the show to make their ratings drop because they didn’t pick me. HAHA.. I’ll show them…); I’ve tried out for Marla’s ‘give-aways’ that are rigged by Jamie ; I’ve called Walgreen’s, Target, and Taco Bell’s survey contests, and many other door prizes and give aways. Sigh. I haven’t won. Maybe one day, I’ll win. Until then, I’m a sucker and a loser–hopefully, only this definition 1: a person or thing that loses especially consistently, NOT this one 2: a person who is incompetent or unable to succeed; also : something doomed to fail or disappoint.
And know what this is? It’s my latest delivery confirmation showing that my Survivor tape made it ON TIME…
I’m excited that it got there on time…because not only am I a lover of competitions, BUT, I am also a cheapskate and a risk-taker. I sent it priority on Tuesday for $4 instead of the guaranteed method for $16 with the hopes that it would get there on time (Thursday at 5:00 p.m.)–After all, if I don’t make it, I have to save save save…and trying out for 100 reality shows can get expensive (It FEELS like 100 anyway!). Okay, so maybe I am a loser, but HEY, at least I’m one step closer to getting picked than YOU. My motto? If you don’t try you won’t win. One day, folks… One day…
Can you see me now?
When Life isn’t so blogg-y
The past few months haven’t felt so blogg-ish–thus my hiatus from the world of Xanga. I’ve been doing other important things with my time, like applying for Survivor (definitely said with sarcasm–if only they would pick me…sigh…). While true, I can’t give any good excuses for my lack of blogging except that sometimes my valleys in life seem to continue on for a little longer than typical and the past couple of months have been that way.
I’m weary today. I’m hoping that I will be able to go to more standard hours at work soon as my new, current fluctuating schedule has really worn me out. From now until our newest team member gets her clearance, I will be maintaining a crazy work schedule 54 hour work weeks. I’m only on week one of this, and I’ve been tired for 3 days now. It’s do-able of course, because the end is in sight, yet simultaneously a death sentence because who knows how long it will take???
Onto other things– My cousin got married 2 weeks ago. Below are pictures of our trip (I’m trying a new program and it may not work…If not, I’ll post them soon…) My little brother couldn’t make it, otherwise it was a great time with family!
