My plan for Pierson’s cake was to bake a mix in a 9×13 Pyrex, slap on some frosting, and call it a day. My husband had other ideas. Big…Ginormous..Ideas. Michael’s vision for this cake included three layers with both fondant and regular icing and an insane amount of planning. Because of his crazy cake scheming, I designated him at the cake baker/maker. Let me just brag for a minute and tell you: TAKE THE CAKE, HE DID!
First, please meet the Ohio State Buckeye’s mascot, Brutus:
For 32 years, my husband has been a huge fan. And, of course, fanatical spectatorship is a valuable characteristic trait to pass on to your children (???). So, Michael schemed up the cake and went to town. He worked like crazy on that goofy cake…
And if I may say so, it came out pretty stinkin’ cute! I told Michael that next year we need to go the 9×13 with slapped-on frosting route, or else our kid will start to expect these crazy monostrous cakes!
I’m uber proud of my Michael, but not just for making some goofy cake, amazing as it was. For being my best example of working with your whole heart & accomplishing excellence in all you do. Thanks for all your hard work, Michael! Great job!
