Online Gender Reveal Party

Gender Reveal parties are currently in vogue. The internet has EXPLODED with gender reveal parties! Whether on Pinterest, blogs I follow like this and this, or a simple google search, they are EVERYWHERE! I’ve had friends that have had them too (hi, Andrea!). While that’s fine and great and I’m secretly envious that people make the time to have such fun, here’s why a gender reveal party doesn’t work for me.

1. I am TERRIBLE planner.
2. I’m lazy.
3. I’m cheap.
4. I repeat: I’m a terrible planner.

So, welcome to the lazy mom’s ONLINE gender reveal party. Kick back, throw off your shoes, & grab a ding dong and pretend it’s colored in the middle. Stuff your face because it’s time to party!

The Makings of A Family Photo

My Groupon for Canvas On Demand was about to expire and I needed a high resolution pic for some wall art.  But getting a picture where we’re all looking at the camera, smiling, have eyes open and don’t look goofy is a very impossible feat.  So, I created one.

This picture was a possiblity:  I liked how Thatcher was actually looking at the camera.  What I didn’t like was the gap between Michael and Pierson.

This was possibility #2: I loved how there are 3 of us looking at the camera, but Thatcher didn’t get the memo.

So, my solution was to cut and paste!  Hahah!  I took Thatcher from one picture and glued him on to the second picture using photoshop!  It took a lot more work than just ‘cutting and pasting’ to make it realistic, but you get the idea.  Don’t look too hard, or you’ll see mistakes!

My computer isn’t calibrated and the colors were wonky when I tried to upload it to Canvas On Demand. I tried to fix it with no luck, so I eventually opted for the Black and White version.

A Recent Trip to Kroger

  1. Helped Pierson into car cart.
  2. Placed a handful of items including a watermelon in cart.
  3. Walked through a spill.
  4. Reported Spill to U-Scan Lady.
  5. *Thought* bad thoughts about how Kroger should be on top of spills or someone is bound to sue.
  6. Bought groceries in the express lane.
  7. Monitored little hands from grabbing candy from express lane while in car cart.
  8. *Thought* bad thoughts about how Kroger is enticing my child to eat junk.
  9. Forgot watermelon that Thatcher’s car seat is hiding from view.
  10. Went to U-Scan.
  11. Bought Watermelon.
  12. Found car.
  13. Transferred groceries to car.
  14. Transferred Thatcher to car.
  15. Removed Pierson from car cart.
  16. Realized the ‘spill‘ I’d reported wasn’t exactly a spill.
  17. Laughed.
  18. Earned another notch on my forgot-to-take-a-potty-training-kid-to-the-potty-every-45-minutes belt.
  19. Learned about the germ factor on those shopping car carts.
  20. Laughed.
