Couch Time

We implemented something we call ‘Couch-Time’ with Pierson about 5 months ago. We have him sit on the couch and independently read his books.

It’s fabulous! He really enjoys the time, and it gives us some time to catch up with house work, read, take pictures of him (ha!), etc.

The length has increased to where he will actively look through his books for around 30 minutes. Sometimes, even more.

This one is my hands down favorite. I think he was panting like the dogs in his book.

Then I turned to snap pictures of #2. This is the face he makes while producing his newly discovered, high-pitched squeal.

And if you’re super observant; yes, my clock wall was out of sync. Why is it that it takes far too long to accomplish the ‘to-do’ items that take less than one minute to complete? What easy task are you avoiding from your to-do list? I’m happy to report the top 2 clocks now have batteries. Happy Tuesday!

Child, Meet Sleep

Little One, this is a special news announcement from your mother.

It’s okay to sleep at naptime.

It’s not as big of a deal as you are making it to be.

Sleep is a good thing.

Sleep is your friend.

You should get to know each other.

Hopefully I can introduce you soon. It seems every time I try to get you two together, something comes up.

Until then, know that I love you–even if you and my BFF are at odds.

Say No to Love(Handles)

Today, I’m drinking water out of a straw so I’ll think my breakfast was from McDonald’s. Maybe then the oatmeal that I am about to eat will morph into a Sausage Mcgriddle, the feed-my-cholesterol sandwich of choice. Four months into having big ole baby #2, I’m still working on shedding the 40 plus poundage that clings to my love handles like static to pants. And we won’t even talk about my cholesterol levels.

I’ve been told by family members that I need to get out of my maternity clothes, yet I’m stuck in the middle of ‘old-size’ and ‘goal-size’ and I’m too stinkin’ cheap to buy much in between. So please try and pardon my temporary frump with a few bouts of exposed elastic waistbands.

Tonight however, and with the help of a friend, I’m going shopping for a few items to tide me over. Here’s to hoping there aren’t tears in the dressing room. And here’s to hoping that I have more luck than when I bought the lot of clothes on ebay.

Though, I hate my clothes/body/situation, I keep going back to the reason for my predicament and am thankful that he’s worth it. Both of them, for that matter. Here’s some favorite point-and-shoots of late.
